The Volleyball event is getting underway four days ahead of the official opening ceremony. Overall, 19 teams will be in action in the sport in the event. In a Pool C encounter, India will be facing Cambodia in the opening match.
Indian Men’s team is ranked 19th among the Asian nations. It has been 37 years since the nation sealed a podium finish in the quadrennial event. The 12-member side hopes to improve their performance from the previous editions. In 2018, they finished 12th out of 20 nations that featured in the event.
Cambodian National Men’s volleyball team returns to the Asiad after over 50 years of absence. The team is much lowly ranked than India in the World rankings.
